a Smart thief once broke into my van by breaking the
passenger side triangle window. that little glass
triangle/wing window makes very little sound when
broken and all he has to do is reach in and roll down
the window and unlock/open door. having power windows
could deter this, but what if he can reach and pull up
the lock with something...power locks could deter
this. But all this could only cause more expensive
windows to be broken.

As far as theft deterence: I took a dremel to the
faceplate on my JVC tapedeck and "defaced" it, in
other words i made it look nice and ugly. Also i
painted words: "Sparkomatic" on it. This is a  very
ugly, great sounding JVC deck. I never remove the
faceplate, why should i?:)
