Last spring I needed a set of of tires for the '87 Syncro I had just purchased.

The local tire chain "Tire Warehouse" store found me a 185R-14C 8 ply rated (6 ply actual) D load range tire. At that time cost was $63 per tire, $7 to mount/balance + $2 to dispose of the old one...

I've put about 5-6K on them and have been very satisfied with the wet, dry, and snow performance on the Syncro Even after 6K, they still look brand new...

I went in today to finally get a spare and the price was down to $53 per tire.

Brand name is Capitol , model SV-820, made in Korea. D load range, 102/100C load index, 8 ply rated, 2 polyester/2 steel plys in tread w/ 2 polyester in sidewall. 1875 lbs. at 65 p.s.i.

They will ship...

Contact # 603-249-9987, speak to John the manager... Tell him Jon Hathaway (the Vanagon guy) referred you...

In a month or two I'm going to put the current set on my '86 GL and buy a new set for the Syncro.

I don't know about most of you folks, but I don't like spending double the money for a tire that is only marginally better...
