Had trouble like that once with a hatch but it did not have power locks. I hit it with the side of my fist (in anger)just near latch while the wife was pushing the button and pulling at the same time, trying to open it. Surprise it worked. Lubricated latch and button, thankfully it never happened again (Ouch!).
