That is what happened on ours.   The clue was it only happened when my
wife was driving -- her key ring was much heavier than mine.  I could
recreate the problem by jiggling the key a bit.  If you cannot recreate
the stall by messing with the key or the wires to the ignition switch
then I would look elsewhere.
