You can check the backup switch itself.

Hmm, I don't recall an inline fuse on the backup light circuit that is in the engine compartment. I only had a connector there.

My backup switch died recently had to be replaced. The new ones use a different connector than the old ones, which will require splicing a new connector into your wiring harness if that is the issue.

I thought I posted a message on this a couple of months ago, so it should be in the archive.
