The link to the list came from insider information--in this case prior experience with the Car Talk puzzler solver and then the use of my few remaining brain cells for name recognition. Long time listees may remember Blaine Bachman from Albaquerque, NM, listee turned Car Talk puzzle solver. If memory serves he had a Westy with an in-line 4 conversion. I haven't seen him posting on the list in a while--maybe the conversion works realy well;)

Anyway I was guessing was the same Blaine from Albaquerque. But the car talk puzzler was not about a Vanagon or Vanagon related--except that there was a poorly performing vehicle involved in the puzzle. Best
