Subject: '82 starter wiring
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

82 air cooled When I removed my tranny this winter I failed to properly label the starter wires. Now that the tranny is back in place I am in a bit of a pinch. There are several wires that obviously mount to the big stud on the back on the starter solenoid, but then there are two more wires with female spade style electrical connectors that connect to the two male spade style electrical connectors on the back of the solenoid, but which wire to which connector? One connector on the solenoid is a little higher than the other and is oriented more or less vertically. The other is a little lower and is oriented more or less horizontally. One wire is significantly thicker than the other and is red with a black stripe. The other wire is thinner and is blue with a brown stripe. Any of you happpen to remember how this should be wired up?

Thanks, Jake
