I can't specifically answer your question because i
solved this problem another way - mounted my amp in
the dash in front of the glove box.  A bit of a trick
to get to, but completely invisible, and lots of air
space around it.  I installed it, and i can't even
tell it's there...  (you know how if you work on
something, you will be the first to know how "it isn't
quite right"?)

Anyways, just another option (since you havn't spent
any money or installed anything yet... we don't want
another kayak debacle :-)
