  I saw the thread on winchs and thought I would throw my idea out there.
Maybe someone has this set up or has tried it and knows it won't work. I
have a 87' Syncro and plan to go to larger wheels soon. So now that opens up
the spare tire area. What about welding a plate accros the frame in there,
mounting the winch to it, then cutting a hole in the bumper and some how
mounting the fair lead there? If it would work it sure would be a clean set
up?
