Thanks Charlie.  But I'm not offended by Eric's
comments at all.  This community of like-minded
Vanagon owners has helped me more than I can say.
And, I've been having fun, too!

But you're right, the monetary value of these
vehicles belies their real worth.  Last evening I was at a friend's home sitting in his new 1977
bay window bus with three other guys, talking
buses, etc., and the vehicle itself is without
engine or tranny!  We're all going to help him
install them, but the point is that these
buses bring people together under a common bond,
more so than any other vehicle I know.

So let's just enjoy driving them, enjoy working
on them, enjoy camping in them, and enjoy the
people we meet who also share our strange passion.
