Back then, 60's, 3-5 years rubber was shot. Metals would last at least this long. Rebuild was cleaning and replacing rubber and honing. Today the rubber is outlasting the metals. Chances are the cyl. has rust in it and honing would not remove this. Kits for these are everywhere, and very cheap, because no one uses them. Eric
