"Brown Bread" is a lot cheaper than Dynamat and looks like it works about the same, from the spec sheet. Haven't tried installing any of this stuff yet, though.

Yeah, it's still expensive and heavy, but as someone pointed out earlier, you can get most of the benefit without covering the entire panel. It doesn't take a lot of it to effectively damp the vibration. Remember, the goal of this stuff is not to create a continuous barrier to sound, it's to absorb the energy that's making the panel vibrate.
