Went to Home Depot yesterday evening looking for that material that is used for window flashing to use for sound deadening. I found it, but I also found (on the same display) a roll of stuff to use on door thresholds which was about twice as thick (and heavy) as the window stuff. The window stuff was about 13.00 a roll, but I couldn't find the price for the thick stuff.

Guess what. Got to the counter and it was a product they don't carry!! Would not even come up on their computer. The cashier just gave it to me. 6 inches by 20 feet, very thick, sticky on one side. I'll be installing this stuff in my doors tonight! I hope this will be enough to do the job, because I'm not sure where I could find more of it.

I'll report back with my results.
