The Fiamma 35 series appears quite fragile in construction.  I chose the 10' F45i series.  Had some problems, they have been resolved (see http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/wetwesties/message/17107
GoWesty shows pictures of proper mounting of the Fiamma awnings on their website, they should know what they are doing.
