I've already got my ticket to the "Abbey" Event in my hot little fist so "I'm there". Actually, I'd be surprised if we can get a "site" at this late date, but I'm not the man that you are Al :) teasin' of course. There are some open range, unsupported, spots all over the place down there. Anyway, I'm all for getting our vans together and if we want to join them, then what the hay.

I'll ask, for those interested in the actual draining of Lake Powell, buy an ice cream cone at the Living Rivers.net "Reconstruction Creamery" on Main Street. Good cause and very closely linked to what Al and I are "booked" to attend the Pack Creek Ranch gathering. You know, the La Sals are just up the road and do have nice spots. If you haven't, take the La Sal Loop. It's about 26 (?) miles long and my bet is there will be large animals out browsing at that time of year. The Glen Canyon Institute phone is 801-363-4450 and email is info@glencanyon.org

Here's a link to some pix I took last fall camping in the La Sals:

See you there.

I'll be glad to help out on the organization end of this if it's wanted/needed.

Great idea, Al.

..it's true, that Friday is the 30th :) .... 'cept if you own a vanagon, then it's any day you want it to be.
