Subject: shock installation
Content-type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

I installed a new set of Bilsteins on Billy Bones yesterday afternoon. This was way easier than I expected. Took about 1 hour for all four. The old shocks were original with 212,000 miles on them. They had no dampening to them at all.

The new shocks seem to have lifted B. Bones about an inch, or at least it looks that way. The ride is great and it handles much better in the wind, and we've had some serious wind here today.

If any of you newbie do-it-yourselfers (like me) want to change your shocks, it's easier than you think. Pmail me if you want to know how I did it. Otherwise there's some great info in the archives.
