Subject: Home-made roof rack for a Vanagon
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Good evening folks,

I have a home-made roof rack taking up space in my garage and it needs to go. Fabricated by the PO of 1 inch steel tubing and wooden slats, the salient feature is that it is free, no money, no bids, no ebay. Fits non-westy Vanagons and measures approximately 56 x 56 inches at the outside, although it could be modified by cutting and welding to suit your taste. Painted gold with some non-critical surface rust.

It came home on top of one of my previous Vanagon purchases, and was the first thing I took off because sometimes my vans pass through low-slung parking garage entrances, and I have yet to think of another good use for it. It's been hanging inside my garage for the last two years.

I am located in SW PA, please p-mail if interested. No, I can't ship it, you come and get it. My guess is that it weighs around 100 pounds. If its not gone by next Sunday, its off to the junkyard, whisked away by Vanagon.

Really bad pictures (sorry, really bad camera) and more details on it can be seen at: http://users.zoominternet.net/~sagmoore/roofrack.htm

Thanks, Dave
