For those who may have gotten caught up in this thread, he no doubt meant "write up" as in a complete written evaluation. The other listmember was obviously making a disparaging remark about his spelling. ( He can't spell. Therefore his can't use proper English. Therefore he is stupid. So, anything he has to say is stupid and invalid.) This is a logical fallacy known as a Strawman. It is used to discredit people we don't agree with. I suggest that if you disagree with someone, you do so by disproving what they say with sound evidence, rather than to character assasination based on their typographical errors or spelling errors.

Maybe it's an eastern expression. Never heard it around Michigan or Chicago and I've been around the car business for 50 years.
