The question is what > amount of weight, shape etc can I safely carry at highway speeds? > TIA According to the Thule web site (http://www.thule.com): Our multipurpose rack system has a maximum weight limit of 165 lbs. However, there are vehicles that do have lower load ratings based on our testing. Also, when multipurpose racks are installed on a factory installed rack (track or rail), the limit is the load rating noted in the vehicle's owner's manual. -------------------------------------------------------------- The weight limit would depend on the type of Thule rack and how it is mounted (to the rain gutters or to the roof). There is an assortment of roof carrier boxes on their web site. You might want to visit a local Thule dealer to verify what rack system you have and their weight recommendations. You can find the nearest dealer on their web page. Don in Phoenix, AZ |
