I know I'm bringing up an old issue but I serched the archives and found = no definitive answer to how well it works (or not). The chip I'm talking = about is the one always seen on ebay = http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=3D33597= &item=3D2470597796. Has anyone installed one and driven it long enough = to give a good or bad report?

Well, here's another GOOD question ! I asked the very same question, more than once and never got one single response. After pondering this all alone, I decided for myself to jump in and get one and try it out. Sooooo way back in January the little chip showed up here and I installed it. Have put approximately 1200 km since then. So what do I think, well it seems to make the engine run a lot smoother and accelerate better. More top end, I don't think so. I'm still trying to get another one of my buds with a good running 2.1 waterboxer Westy for some side by side road running comparisons. I do have a Boston Engine Big Valve engine so some of the performance gain is attributable to that. So a real comparison is unlikely unless I find another equally equipped Westy with a Boston Engine Big Valve engine to make some side by side comparisons on the road. Dyno you say, well nothing like that around here, sorry. Only dyno available is seat of the pants ones. Highly inaccurate ! Worth the 100 CAD it cost me ? Too late to ask now ! Bought and paid for so am enjoying it and that $100 has a lot to do with how I feel about it. Presently I feel good and like it as my Van has never run so well. But if you look at my _1987 Vanagon Westy New Motor Project_ (http://members.aol.com/Fkc43/newmotor.htm) and _1987 Westy Modifications & Improvements_ (http://members.aol.com/Fkc43/mods.htm) webpages you will see there could be any number of reason my Westy is running so well !
