Subject: Speaking of TDI motors... and 5 speed trannies
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Fellow Listees,

I'm proud to say that we will soon (next month) be offering the 1.9 liter TDI conversion kit, as well as complete conversions for the Vanagon. This is a bolt-in installation (i.e., no adapter required) and it fits under the existing engine lid.

These are sweet motors that provide an ample amount of pulling power. I drove one in Germany a week ago and I still get a silly grin on my face when I think about it.

We will also have new, rebuilt and used TDI motors available, including the 110HP Eurospec engine. Name your flavor and we'll probably be able to help.

Additionally... we will have rebuilt late model 5 speed transmissions for the Vanagon available in late May. The transmissions will come in two flavors: rebuilt stock, and rebuilt with a stronger 5th gear and a taller ring and pinion (think 80MPH at ~3,300 RPM).

Work has begun on our demonstrator Vanagon and should be complete by the end of April. If you're in the area around that time (or after) please feel free to stop by for a test drive. I promise that you won't be disappointed.

I'll try to have more detailed information on the web site in the next few weeks.

Cheers,

Jeff www.vanagonparts.com
