I was watching an auction on a Syncro Vanagon not too far from me. It got to the last couple of hours and the auction was still pretty low ($760). I put my max bid up to $860 and won the auction. So I am excited about getting this van and I call the guy today to make arrangements. I paid him $200 as a deposit via Pay Pal and then called him up. I wish I would have called first. In the Terms of Sale of the van it states that there is a $200 "documentation fee" added to all non-reserve auctions. I didn't notice this when I was bidding on the van or I probably would have let it pass by. So now the van I thought I was getting for $860 is actually costing me $1060 plus another $200 for towing. Live and learn. Here is a link to the auction if you want to take a look. <http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=246876066 9&ssPageName=ADME:B:EOAB:US:6>

I guess you can't say that these guys are trying to pull a fast one because they do put the $200 fee in the terms of sale description. However I have been left with a bad taste in my mouth and will be more careful in the future.
