A little common sense goes a long way here folks. If you receive any attachment ending in .pif, .scr trash it without opening. If you receive an attachment ending in .xls or .zip, contact the supposed source to verify they sent it to you, what it is and whether it's of value to you before you open it. Viri do not come from the address supposedly sending it to you (the "from" column). If the person is ligit, send a note asking for verification that they sent you the file. Time consuming perhaps but nothing like the time you'll spend rebuilding or disinfecting your system.
