Subject: Transporting a Quad Dirtbike

Im buying a quad 250 2X4 that i would like to
transport from Florida all the way up to my moms farm
in Wisconsin. The quad weighs about 375 lbs. which is
relatively light so i was thinking...why not buy the
biggest reciever hitch/bumper and then construct a
platform for the quad to 'piggy-back-ride' on the back
of my westy. The quad and van would be positioned to
look like a Toy Poodle, trying to make love to a Great
Dane(or the quad driving up the back of the van,
bottom facing the hatchback) I wont be able to access
the hatchback but oh well, I dont like dealing with
trailers. I also thought of installing airbags to
compensate for the weight. I probably would have to
buy one of Garys custom welded for the vanagon bike
racks as well. link to garys
racks:http://www.telusplanet.net/public/gary2a/rack/vanagonrack.htm
i remember someone from the list doing this with a
large dirtbike. This is probably going to cost more
than a nice motorcycle trailer.
Any ideas?
thanks
Phil
