Mark, my first year in the north country was spent at Wrangell, Alaska.
I sleft in the lOft and one night I had the window open listening to the
waves coming on shore from the Zimovia Straits. No screens, owner of the
place didn't have any screens oon the whole house. It was spring and I
was lying there in the dark when something bit me hard. Hurt like
blazes. I tuned on the light and couldn't find a thing. Rustled the
covers thinkin a bug of some sort. I lay back down but with the light
on. Being a loft bed room the roof sloped low over the bed. I happend to
look up, and lo and behold there on that sloping ceiling were about a
dozen mosquitos the size of wasps!!!! I have never seen mosquitoes that
big. I had some bug spray, and sprayed the room. No more problems but
man those souckers were big. I never had any more problems, but it was
an unusal event for me.
However, later on up near Fairbanks, I got sent over to Galena one day
to the Air Station there. I was hanging out at the airport waiting to
see when I could leave, because the base ws closed down due to bad
weather. it was foggy as blazes. I went towards a line shack only to
hear some Sargeant bawling out a new Airman - something about fueling
the wrong kind of flying machine. Turned out that the airman, being new,
had gone out on the line in the fog and pumped 600 gallons of JP4 into
an Interior Alaska mosquito that had stopped to rest, before the man
realized what it was.!!!!

It works like a charm every time, comes free of charge several times a year(at least it does here), and totally eliminates "Insidious Insects & Bothersome Bugs". Why, I have not seen a single "Mosquito, Gnat, No-See-Um, or Black Fly since last September. Winter works so well that you do not have to use harmful chemicals, smoke, explosives, or intoxication to find relief from various forms of flying vermin.
