I saw a Hobie cat edition on the VW lot the year before I bought my Wolfsburg; expensive, but it was cool looking (and of course came with the boat).  Had alloys but I never looked inside, just saw it on the lot.

well, maybe not rare in coastal towns in cali.. but i think they were sold in
areas where you could actually USE catamarans..  so ive never seen one here
on the EC..
nothing is rare in SF (aka"vanagon city") apparently :<)
