The guy who sold my Vanagon to me did something just as pathetic as that. He
was a guy that I worked with at the time. It was a Friday afternoon, and we
were getting off work when he noticed a puddle of coolant on the ground
under the engine. Turned out to be a leaking head gasket. Monday he showed
up in a brand new Honda Element (I know-very disgusting. makes you want to
barf) By the end of the week, I had purchased this super clean 86 Vanagon
with 1 leaking head gasket for $900.
