Greetings from WV. We got 2 inches of snow here on Thursday night, and the temperatures are still on the cool side. Shenandoah Mountain (on the other side of the valley) is still white capped.

I've been working around the property, cutting up fallen trees (and making firewood the process.) The challenge road is open again (though I'm not sure when or if we'll do it this year). Derek will be happy to know that I've removed a couple of those trees that were making it just a little too tight for him.

Wildlife, this early in the spring, is still a bit on the scarce side, though I did see a half dozen deer and one Ruffed Grouse.

The daffodils are blooming, but very little else shows that spring is here. That should change noticably in the next 5 weeks.

If you expect to join us for the 2nd annual Syncro de Mayo Este, please send me private email (off the list please) just so we can keep track of who to expect. As was the case last year, base camp will be on private land, with a number of nicely grassy/woody spots for camping. There are bathrooms and showers at the house. Saturday evening's dinner will be a pot luck.

I do expect to have a spot marked out in the main camping area for a camp fire (a goodly supply of wood is already there, I just have to mark the spot and get some stone in place. )
