What a sorry-assed-son-of-a-b!tch and one hell of a pr!ck to do something like that. But, they're out there roaming the highways and byways.

Similar anecdote:

The only other Vanagon owner in my burg bought a Mexican Beetle a few years ago. He bought it because while growing up driving rotted out Bugs, he always dreamed of an absolutely pristine VW. This guy is Mr. Perfect concerning all things which come into his realm. He's the queer eye in a straight guy, so when he had to drive his Beetle from Georgia to Pennsylvania in February it was with more than a little care en route.

He said that he traveled during one of those rare weeks in February when it didn't snow, the sun was out and the roads were bone dry. The new car remained absolutely clean and perfectly unscathed until he was within 8 miles of the safe harbor of home. As he approached his last exit off the superslab, a beater came up fast behind him then rode his tail. He assumed it was just someone taken with the rare sight of a Bug as shiny as a new penny. As he moved into the exit lane, the bozo behind him passed and cut him off then drifted into the antiskid gravel on the edge of the road. Of course, my friend's new car was pelted and suffered the only paint chips it ever had. He was already committed to his line and speed, so, he could do nothing except take the abuse. He said that he KNOWS that the guy intentionally sprayed him with gravel out of some sort of misplaced malice.

Every kinda people, makes the world go 'round, la, la, la, la, la-la . . .

George
