Subject: Replacing glass in an '83 mirror
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"

I have an '83 Westy and had to replace the left side mirror recently (the old one was not standing up to the wind of hwy driving speeds). I found a replacement '85 vanagon left side mirror and replaced it no problem. The only hitch is that the glass in the new mirror has lost some of its silvering and isn't as nice a reflection as the old glass. Do any of you knowledgeable volks out there in Vanagon land know if it's possible to pull the glass out of my old mirror and stick it in my new mirror? And if so, how is it done?

Cheers,

Kirk
