Larry,
I have found that the best insect repellant is, WINTER. It works like a charm every time, comes free of charge several times a year(at least it does here), and totally eliminates "Insidious Insects & Bothersome Bugs". Why, I have not seen a single "Mosquito, Gnat, No-See-Um, or Black Fly since last September. Winter works so well that you do not have to use harmful chemicals, smoke, explosives, or intoxication to find relief from various forms of flying vermin.
Mark in AK - April 1st and it was -1F this morning (winters last joke on us)
Seen on a bumper sticker locally "There is not a single mosquito on the Alaska Highway, they are all married and have very large families"
