Kirk,

I just did that to replace a mirror that someone broke for no reason. Had another with a snapped off adjustment nut and bolt.

I just inserted various paint scraping tools, screw drivers and the like into the crack and gradually pried the plastic ring that holds the mirror in place away from the base. It was easier on the one with the broken mirror. I took my time so as to not crack the plastic and did it inside so everything was warm and not brittle. The parts on both mirrors appeared to have been glued and I was essentially breaking that bond. But it worked and I just glued it back together with the new mirror with model airplane glue. It didn't make quite as neat a seal as the original, but it works and I have one good mirror from what was two defective mirrors.

Hope this helps.

Sam
