I saw them at Schucks (aka Kragens or Checkers). I was getting oil and saw these in the 'hey, lets trick out & slam our car' isle. The part the fits into the car looks like your normal light-bulb base. Then the top, instead of a glass bulb had a small array of LEDs. They overall width was comparable to normal lightbulb width.

Does this help? try the big chain auto parts store that so many of us have learned to avoid.
