Here in Halifax, there are:  1) bug jackets
impregnated with DEET etc, that have a full mesh hood
to go over a baseball cap. and 2) bug hats that are
360 degree mesh hoods that have hoops to keep it off
your face, but elastic to go around the neck.  I
assume that these can be found at most hiking/camping
stores.  On the van I use a 'shower-cap' design rear
bug screen (with no-see-em mesh) that keeps 100% of
ALL bugs out.
