I guess it comes down to what is 'state of the art'?

I think the best bang for the buck is TDI or the 1.8T

It used to be that a lot of Vanagoners were putting the Subaru engine into their vans, using the Kennedy Engineering kit.

Is this still basically the state of the art - or has someone else come up with a better solution?
