Subject: Re: I get no respect

Tabarnac, yeap it's french swearing........ and yes am kind of mad here about laws.......... i will explain myself later. ps.: in my original post i said "left lane", of course i mean right lane, but hey, am French and stupid so.....(hi hi hi)

>>>>I won't even get into talking about the left entrances that make you mergeinto fast-lane traffic, and the ramps where the same short merging lane is shared by exiting cars (who are slowing down) and entering cars (who are trying desperately to speed up.)<<<<

I agree....... David. But now i have a Nitro buton, hi hi hi.

>>>While courtesy and safety require that on-freeway traffic assist the oblivious<<<

Sure thing, common sense!

>>>>The driver who blindly aims his car into traffic without even a head turn toassess openings may well be the same driver that does not know the triangilar profile of a yield sign, or perhaps does not know what yield means<<<<

Yeap, the kind of driver that i would kick is butt. Cracker jack box drivers licence.

>>>>Here in California driving schools we are taught to merge from an on ramp"at the speed of traffic." Makes sense as faster or slower will not work. The merging vehicle must adjust speed to merge with the existing traffic. Anything else is just suicide.<<<<

This is simply logical........... We need rules, logical rules.

>>>>You had better be careful on Ontario highways. Our "Highway Traffic Act" gives the traffic on a highway on-ramp right-of-way over the traffic in the right(slow) lane.<<<<<

Greg, this is kind of stupid, sorry but that is what i think........I will go protest in Ottawa (he he he)

Ok..... now lets be logical. -Both drivers, entering higway and right lane driver should be aware of each others and be courteous, of course..... BUT, the average driver is a dumb butt.... and most of the time both drivers just don't car about what's in front, rear, left and right, they just drive.....

So we make laws for those stupid and ignorant ones!!!!!!! The way i see things (Remember, 20 years of motocycle driving, 750 hours of airplane flying)..... Any country should have one logical rule, and in my book, the one joining highway should be the one to yield, why!!!! he is the new guys.... i was there before. If you join a group of any kind in life, you need to reed the rules, adapt and join.

But i agree, if you are driving in the SLOW lane (Left being the FAST lane, another very interesting topic) you should be aware of highway entrance.

I had many close call in the past on my bike with stupid driver entering highway, never looking in the dead angle, i said dead angle, i said dead angle.................why the hell do we call that dead angle, they must be a good reason!!!!!!!!! why 98% of any motorcycles drivers will look each side before changing lane...........because they want to live.

When i join an highway, i don't care if there is a yield sing, i try to adapt... the best i can, it's my job as an intelligent driver.

Driving my bus...If the highway speed is 70-75 on the right lane, i do accelerate to 65 70 for a short wile until am on the highway, i slow down after. If i cannot accelerate for any reason, i put my hand out the windows, and try to make clear that am entering.

Whatever, this should not be a topic......
