How about adding a bit of cascade diswashing to the
system while I am doing this. I have already tried
the water up the radiator trick with very hot water.

If you are serious about this, hear is what to do.
Empty the system
by removing hte hose from the rad. Take a garden hose
and insert
it into the rad. in both directions, several time.
Clean the rest of
the system as much as possible. run with water for the
next few
weeks, flushing several times. This has never fauled
for me.

Eric, I am concerned that the previous owner dumped

amheading up to oregon near Redding. Any home

flushYou are wasting your money. If your rad. is only
3years old, fromnew, and you are running hot, its not
the rad. Youwould have hadto dump pure mud in it, and
at 3 years old, that wouldeasily flushout. What clogs
a rad. is the constant heating andcooling in the
rad.Vanagons don't cycle that fast, giving them
longerlife. with clogging. There is lots of other
reasons for a Vanagon to runhot. Eric
