Well, I couldn't resist. After all the talk this week about Bluestars, Redstars and Whitestars, I just had to go out and buy a '89 Wolfsburg. Sure it's not a true Whitestar but I though it might get BenT and Chris going again.

Actually, I've been looking for a nice van to make into our TDI demonstrator and this seemed to fit the bill perfectly. It's in pretty decent shape, no rust, and a bit on the unusual side with the diagonal striped interior, gray dash, factory subwoofer & amp, and 4 speed tranny. Planning has already begun for it's conversion: first it gets a 5 speed, then the TDI motor, followed by a nice coat of fresh paint, and last, but not least, a set of 17" rims and tires.

I'll try to keep the list updated with news and photos as the conversion progresses. For now, here's some links to the photos of the unmodified van.
