Ah, the joys of being a Westy owner. In preparation for Syncro de Mayo Este, I decided to finally start taking care of those little issues that have been bugging me for a while with my Westy.

First and foremost was to deal with my refrigerator. The flame wouldn't stay lit. The previous owner reported that it had worked fine, so I figured it only needed cleaning of the burning chamber, but I needed to pull the fridge to gain access. And there in lay the problem. I couldn't loosen the nut holding the propane line to the back of the fridge. At least in past attempts at pulling the fridge. Today I refused to accept defeat and eventually got it out.

Sure enough the burn chamber looked very good, except it had a fair amount of ash in it. I blew the ash away and all is happy now.

I also took the opportunity to replace the fridge fan with the quieter Fridgemate fan, which I carefully wired up backwards. Fortunately I tested things before I put the fridge back in to place. The archives were invaluable as always in figuring a way to test the fan (hot hair blower on the thermoswitch).

Now my fridge is all ready for this years camping trips.
