I recommend being careful not to get ANY air into the system. Double clamp the hoses, pull the top one off hold it up and if need be pour some distilled into the hose, shove a 5/8 bolt into it and double clamp it, do the same for the lower hose.

Some day when you have the engine out replace the "T" fittings with straight fittings.
