I removed mine two years ago and have never had a problem. I pinched the two hoses to stop lealing unclamped the hoses and unscrewed the heater and removed. Remember to lay some towels down as there is some coolant in the heater. I then used a copper L fitting and attached the intake and exit lines together. I have never had a leak and it gave me much more room. It will also allow you to re-attach the heater ata a later date if you feel the need. Patrick 85 westy appin ontario
