The other two times were just brain farts...I got distracted by something, right before the point in my routine when I'd normally pull the keys out of the ignition, and then forgot I hadn't. Once I managed to lock myself out of my Honda *with the engine running*. My dad owns a Ford Explorer with a keypad unlocking system on the door. When he goes fishing in the woods he deliberately locks his keys in the car and lets himself back in with the keypad afterwards. That way he doesn't have to worry about losing his keys in the stream.
