I use the hyd-bottle-type for some jobs also. It can be put under the wheel a-arm link and so it results in keeping the van closer to the ground and allows me to put the j-stand under that wheel, then move the hyd-bottle jack. Usually use this for rotating my tires. The less high the van goes, the less the other tires "drag" to accommodate the lifted part of the van, and less precarious this whole exercise seems, to me. I don't always do it, but this jack can be taken along on trips real easily as it is so small and stowable. I have both the screw-type, scissor-type under the bench seat so I have almost too much "lifting" with me most of the time, but like it that way. Maybe that's why I've not "needed" them up to this point :) Bob Stevens '87 Westy Syncro http://groups.msn.com/BobsPhotoShare http://groups.yahoo.com/group/tiico _________________________________________________________________ MSN Toolbar provides one-click access to Hotmail from any Web page – FREE download! http://toolbar.msn.com/go/onm00200413ave/direct/01/ |
