Tromper, Here's some answers using our TDI conversion (other conversions may vary): A) No cover mod necessary. It all fits under the lid. B) No tranny swap required. If you have a 4 speed, you'll need to swap the bell housing, which is included in the kit. If you have an automatic, you'll need an adapter, which is included in the kit for A/T. C) 22MPG, depending on the size of your right foot and tranny gearing. D) VW Vanagon TD exhaust. E) Quiter than a 1.6 VW Diesel. F) A tranny upgrade is highly recommended due the increased torque and power curve of the TDI. I have nice rebuilt 5 speeds with 4.11 ring & pinions and upgraded 5th gears for only $3400. Hi Folks, I'm might be picking up another Diesel at some point this summer, and am curious if anyone out there who has put a 1.6TD 1.9TD, TDI, or 1.9na (IDI if I recall) in theirs who can tell me. A.) Was there a cover mod necessary? If so what intake did you use? B.) Did you swap trannies?? If so what Transmission did you swap to? C.) How's the fuel economy?? D.) What exhaust changes did you make?? E.) How's the noise?? F.) Anything else you can think of. Thanks Tromper 82 Dieselfant II Edmonds, WA |
