Forwarded from: http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/vw-camping/ Hi folks, Just put a small web page together of a recent camping trip with our vanagon to Graves Creek campground in the Olympic National Park by Lake Quinault, Washington. Some photos of the vanagon by the river, waterfalls, & lots of moss: http://www.vwtravels.com/graves_creek.htm The campground has been inaccessible for vehicles for quite awhile, but the road has been repaired and re-opened recently. It's a big spacious campground under the rainforest canopy, far away from the crowds. It was very quiet when we were there. Close to trailheads at the end of South Shore Road. To get there, you go to Lake Quinault, take South Shore Road, and keep going. Once you pass the lake, it's another 15 miles over a well-maintained newly reconstructed gravel road to the campground. The only sounds in the campground were birds and the roaring river. Harald '90 westfalia
