If you need to replace the housing where the shifter bolts, you are looking at a full tranny overhaul. It all gets disassembled strting at the differential end.

I've bought a transmission off eBay. It came from Mass and has some structural corrosion where the shifter bolts to it, which means that I am going to have to replace the "end cap" or the cap that is nearest the front of the bus. I know the seals are available, but what all is involved in pulling this housing off? Anything going to jump out at me that I can't put back in?

Thanks.
