Hi Kevin, I had a similar grinding sound on sharp corners. It turned out that the transaxle mount was bad. It looked okay visually, but rust had caused the rubber to become detached from the metal frame. This allowed the transaxle to slip sideways during hard cornering and then the transaxle bracket would rub on the engine mount frame; causing a loud grinding sound from the rear of the van.
