I don't have power windows, so no specifics here... but from general electronic experience, I'd suspect the switch on the driver's side (it's mechanical, subject to wear, and probably been used a lot more than the passenger's side switch). Next, I'd check the connections to that same switch... connectors are the weak point in any harness, since they are subject to corrosion/crud buildup over time. If you can swap the switches without too much trouble, try that and see if the problem moves.
