If everything else works fine on the unit, it's almost definitely a case of a bad ground. I would trace down where the ground is (usually behind the lower air directing plastic dash piece below the stereo), and make the sure the wires, connections, and surface metal are good and clean. grounds can do funny things to audio equipment... cheers, James '83.5 country homes camper (w/a new 2.1L WBX!!!)
------------------------------ Original Message: From: "J. Harvey" <jtharvey2@HOTMAIL.COM> Subject: Radio pops when powered up? I installed a 1996 Passat tape deck in my Vanagon and it works great. The only problem is that when I turn it on it makes a loud "pop" sound. Initially, I thought my voltage sources could be swapped but they aren't. Any suggestions? -John _________________________________________________________________ Stop worrying about overloading your inbox - get MSN Hotmail Extra Storage! http://join.msn.com/?pgmarket=en-us&page=hotmail/es2&ST=1/go/onm00200362ave/direct/01/ |
