Subject: Re: exhaust leak fixed (?)- inspection passed!
Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed

I recently passed emissions but I'm still running rich. Small Car Performance in Tacoma made my exhaust system and it leaked the first day . I took it in for repair and they charged me, and it still leaks.

They charged me $782.00 for this hacked up poorly welded contraption that allows air to be sucked in ahead of the O2 sensor.

Now i'm looking for someone who can make me a system. I may have been willing to accept the $782.00 if there was something there that was designed and constructed properly.

They told me to give me a system that was like i wanted it, it would cost thousands! Aparrantely they don't start doing good work till the price is over a grand.

The shop even admitted that the guy who does the welding is a 7 on a scale of one to ten!

If you have seen a Tiico system that's what I need. Tiico however doesn't sell anything separately.

Local muffler shops use that cheap pipe, and don't make tuned dual downpipes.

To be good it has to be mandrel bent, and the shop I went to who does mandrel bent , told me that my dual downpipe design did'nt matter. I mocked up a dual design and my van ran like a batmobile.

So i know the dual pipe is better. Just that these shops all look at a Vanagon as a big slow box and so they goive you non-performance work. It's the only work they know how on a Vanagon.
